12-Year-Old Raises Funds for Nepal Earthquake Relief

Young Nepal donor from Plainsboro

After a 7.8 magnitude earthquake shook Nepal, 12-year-old Adhit Menon of Plainsboro wanted to help. The sixth-grader made origami flowers, which he and his brother Abhik sold to their fellow Community Middle School students to raise funds to support Red Cross disaster relief efforts in Nepal.

Adhit presented the money he raised to Barbara Latady, senior director of individual giving, Red Cross North Jersey Region (center) and Joelle Piercy, program specialist volunteers and youth services, Red Cross North Jersey Region on June 18 at the Red Cross in Princeton.

The Red Cross is grateful to Adhit and all who have supported the on-going relief efforts in Nepal. To learn about Red Cross response in Nepal, please visit redcross.org.
