National Preparedness Month Activities in the Region

September is National Preparedness Month, and, it’s a great time to review your own emergency plans and to make sure family, friends and neighbors are prepared. Whether it’s a house fire or a hurricane, having a plan in place before an emergency hits means you’ll know where to turn in times of crisis.

The Red Cross invites you to join us and learn about preparedness at any of the following events being held throughout the region this month: 

September 21

Healthy Family Fun Fair – 10:00am–3:00pm, College of St. Elizabeth, 2 Convent Road in Morristown. Red Cross offers Free Hands-only CPR Training, Disaster Preparedness information and the Red Cross Fire Safety Trailer will be on site for children walk through and learn about fire prevention.

The Microsoft Store at Bridgewater Commons – 400 Commons Way in Bridgewater. Red Cross offering preparedness information from 1:00–3:00pm with a presentation at 1:30pm.

Community Health Fair – St. James Church, 581 Valley Road in Montclair. Red Cross offering preparedness information from 12:00-4:00pm with a presentation at 12:00pm.

September 27

The Roy Smith Theater at Union County College – 1033 Springfield Avenue in Cranford. Red Cross preparedness presentation at 6:30pm.

September 28

Clifton Preparedness Fair – Clifton Municipal Complex, 900 Clifton Avenue in Clifton. Red Cross offering preparedness information from 10:00am – 2:00pm at the Senior Citizen Center.
